If we are going to lead where we are, then we need to position ourselves to learn from others. Whether it’s finding the next right book to read to productivity hacks, podcasts can help us sharpen our leadership skills and assist us on the road to self-discovery. Below are four podcasts that I’m listening to that are helping me do both.
What Should I Read Next with Anne Bogel
For book nerds like me this takes choosing the right book to the next level. Anne Bogel, author of I’d Rather Be Reading, invites guests on her show and asks them to give her three books they love and one book they hate. From there, she recommends multiple books for them to read next (and thus the title!). Anne says, “”To hand you a great book, I don’t just need to know about books, I need to know about you.” This is a fun podcast with a bit of mystery, psychology and bookworm knowledge as Anne uncovers not only the books they love and hate, but she actually learns about them.
The Lazy Genius by Kendra Adachie
“Be a genius about the things that matter and lazy about the things that don’t.” This podcast by Kendra Adachi is all the things. From giving advice on how to pack for a trip to making a killer playlist for any occasion (including washing dishes!), The Lazy Genius covers it! I love her podcasts because they are short, fun and mix the meaningful with the practical.
Typology with Ian Morgan
As you may know I am an Enneagram Three. I first discovered the Enneagram when I read The Road Back to You: The Journey to Finding Your True Self by Ian Morgan Cron. The author is also the host of this podcast, and I cannot tell you how much I love learning and listening to others find their way back to their true selves. Now, I confess that I don’t listen to these in order. I choose every interview with an Enneagram Three, and I soak up the fact that I am not alone. I highly recommend this podcast if you are interested in learning others’ self-discovery (especially if they are like you!).
